Finally my GT is getting 205 tires!!!!

My current BFgoodrich Radial t/a 175 70 R13 are now 15 years old hand have served me very well. Only paid 160$ for all four new at Canadian Tire over stock sale!!!

But after a very close call with a Bear Cub running out infront of me in corner , and their overall poor wet condition performance this past season, I decided it was time...

Problem is 13" tires basically don't exist in Canada anymore..... Only place I could find them was tirerack.com

So a new set of 205 60 R13 BFgoodrich tires after shipping is a whopping 830$ US dollar hit! Ouch....

Oh well, I'm super excited to finally install some 205 wide tires on my beautiful yellow Gt..

Nice! :) I love the wear of those Radial T/A's; had them on my old Mustang 2.3 Turbo. All Terrain T/A's on my old Bronco II. On both vehicles, lotsa miles, minimal wear. Good choice going with Goodrich!

Thanks! They are a great tire indeed!

Kinda got interested in comparing various profiles and width combinations for 13" wheels.

Here's my original tires my car had when I baught it nearly 17 years ago. old school 185 / 75 radials with white walls vs my current BFgoodrich...

-185 75 R13 are 23.4" diameter, 5" thread width

-175 70 R13. are currently 22" diameter, 5.5" thread width.

From my current research on BFgoodrich Radial t/a

-205 60 R13 are 22.6" diameter, 6.8 thread width

I sure will!

Must say how much I appreciate the excellent service from tirerack.com...... Easy stress free purchase on a set of 13" tires that otherwise I couldn't find anywhere

ugh 4 months the irony I would have to start it up and at least pretend I'm driving.
Don't think I could hold out that long

Ya, don't wait 15 years to replace tires. The lifespan of a tire exposed to oxygen is about 10 years. Less if also exposed to lots of UV light as a result of being parked outside.
