I went out after another throttle cable and found one of my favorite parts guys down in the dumps from all the stupid calls he gets every day. Took him for a smokey burn out and ripping acceleration run and took him back to work a bit more happy to have been at work tonight. Funny how a bit of speed can lift a spirit.,,, spread the joy of high powered motors

Neat story, Dave. I do the same, pretty much, in the monza every once and so often. A neat full throttle drive up the "Strand", a 4 lane State highway between the ocean and San Diego bay to Coronado and back will do the trick for me. And it only takes about 15-20 minutes start to finish.

A neat story going on that road one time. A 2.2L Mopar van tried to do me in. I left him quite nicely, Margaret rolled down the window at a stop lite going into the city and told the driver, "If you want to play, you gotta have the toys". :D

this particular parts person enherited some very nice cars like vettes and early mopar muscle cars but he will only show them occassionally and never drive them. He liked the speed but to him the headlights were the coolest. A mental distraction for him and now he at least knows what all those goofy parts I look for go to.

I too find solace in pushing the go pedal. When I am in a really bad mood, sometimes I press that pedal so hard that my toes cramp. The GT is great for that feeling, but my daily driver Buick can provide relief too, just press hard enough and the whine of the supercharger is enough to make just about any day a little better.

This past weekend a friend was able to reset the fuse with a spirited drive. Those that are familar with "The Turd" know what it's true character holds. The Turd is a moderately abused but well sorted Ascona, ready for just about any rally race. Navigating a narrow dirt road at speed looking through the side windows you quickly forget about board meetings, year-end figures and even taxes.

Welcome Madhatter.....

The Turd is best experienced when driven in anger. Don't try to be smooth with it, flog it 'til it's hanging the rear wheels in a corn field, the engine is revving in the upper range of the tach, the steering wheel is at full opposite lock, and you're really not quite sure if you're going to make it home in one piece....

That's what 'the Turd' is all about.:)

He blew the everything doing about 11000 rpm on the 'free way' The weber was giving him greafe between 5000 and 7500, so he was sliping the clutch and bang no more engine!!!!!!!!!!!!
