So close..... Just 17 miles from GA in S.C.
But I drive the 150 miles to Atlanta to see my Opel friends.

Ken
This is great:)! Now.... about a date to get together....How about the second weekend in September? On that Saturday the 10th.

The folks at Flashback Motoworks mentioned to me when I talked to them that they have car get togethers at there place (inside faciality with a BBQ) and would love to see some Opels in the area. (the owner says he has not seen one in a very long time and thought they had all gone to the great rust pit in the sky).

It is just an idea to toss out see what you foks think.
Rick;
That's a start!!! And a good one. He wants Opels, we can get him Opels!! :D So, we'll start there, Sept. 10th How's that with everyone? Dan, Ging, John, Paulie, Dallas, Ken, Dieter, etc????? :confused:
November Meeting?

Hey y'all (is that correct?) :)
I'll be in Atlanta in November for a weekend with free time during the day if anyone wants to get together. I'll find out the dates soon.
Hey Gary

Gary, check your private messages. Sent you one a few days ago and you haven't read it yet :rolleyes: Thanks!

Sharon
Opels in Atlanta...oh yeah...

I will be at any function there might be. My 71' is in the shop right now awaiting parts to have the suspension all nice and tidy and working so I don't blow myself off of the road with my turbo'ed 2.3

On that note, any suggestions on good shocks to add? The Koni Reds are a little too much for me as I do not plan on adjusting them all of the time. The KYB's on OGTS look cool, but just thought I would throw it out there.

Paulie
Gary,
Find out the dates and let us know, please;). It would be great to get a face with the name!!

November will be getting a little colder (no bugs tho) and some folks will be getting in to the Thanksgiving stuff towards the end of the month so I hope you are headding down the early in the month.
if its the first 2 weeks i might make it too :eek:
Gary;
C'mon down, set a spell. :D Just let us know.
Baz;
If it works out, it would be a real treat! Let's see if we can make this work!

Just checked. It will be November 12 & 13. My wife has a conference in Atlanta that weekend and I'm tagging along.

Just got back from a similar weekend in Fort Lauderdale. (and all it's tax deductible) ;)

Read it. Got 2, I'll try to reply tonight.
This is starting to look good. I will check with the schedule committy (wife), but the 12th of November looks great!!:)
meetings

- September 10: sure, if I can get a trailer to haul my Kadett - now wait, I don't need a trailer anymore. I have a Manta now, and I can just sit in and drive it anywhere I want to... totally new feeling (thank's, Ken!!!).
- November 12th: BAZ, if you come over the big pond, we sure will organize a meeting for you. To remind everyone in the ATL area: my house, garage, driveway and porch is always available to hold a meeting. Plenty of space for 15+ Opels on concrete driveway, and some more on the lawn.

Dieter
i will be in atlanta on the 12th to fly home if i make it , might be able to push it all back a day as nothing is booked yet :D
just got to wait and see how the chemo goes but looking good so far
think i might get longest travel award
Baz;
For the simple fact that you're still vertical is best award anyone can get! ;)
We'll definitely make the effort to have a meet if you come!!! :D
Gary, Baz, come on anytime! We'll get together who we can when we can. It's hard to know if you're going to be 'doing anything' that far in the future (for me at least) but the nice thing is that you can hold those times open with this much warning. Marking the calendar as we speak. :D
Hey Baz, if you need anything medically while you're here we'll descend on Emory here in Atlanta. One of the finest medical centers in the states. Of course, if we introduce you to all the local cuisine in large quantities you may just need stomach remedies. :p
Looking forward to it!

ging i know it all too well
i had family in alpharetta ,macon and perry but they are all in the ground or have headed south to the sun in Fl. I think i still have a house in dry branch ,macon
Don't want to get too far off topic here, but that's my family's stomping grounds (Macon, Perry, Dublin, Eastman - which you've probably never heard of...).
If you want to do any exploring while you're here I can take you down to Midville and that area and introduce you to a great little resturant off a pond filled with alligators, herons, snakes, etc. Great place to canoe and do some observing.
eastman ive been to on the way to savannah :)
