Does anyone know how much torque the 4 speed manual gearbox can handle?
By virtue of better steel and straight-cut gears, the Quaife is nominally stronger.Does the Quaife gear set increase the torque rating? If so, does anyone know that limit?
Correct, the early Chevy Vega used the 6-cylinder Opel gearbox.Probably the Commodore/Kapitän/Admiral box, which is slightly beefier than the four cylinder variants. Admirals with the 28E engine were rated at 165hp DIN and 235Nm . I believe the box was also used in early Chevy Vegas too, but I'm not sure.
