Flew into Austin TX and drove my 72 GT back to Northern Utah!!! What a trip!!!! Thanks Tom for the nice car but it does need some TLC. It did make the 1600 mile trip without incident. I haven't had a GT since the early 80's so I'm new at the GT parts availability. Hope you all can help me out with some needs. The rear end needs new ring and pinion (howls like a BIG DOG!) Are they still available and from where. Also looking for a fuel tank sending unit. I noticed on some of the forums that there are a variety of different motors and a 5 speed available. All info would be greatly appreciated. Ready to get started on making this GT cherry!!!

Most of the parts can be found at Opel GT source (OGTS) in CA. There are links to them on the forum. The 5 speed can be received from them also but there is a little modification that needs to be done to get it in.

Take a stroll (look by the search on the this forum) thru the various treads on various subjects, you should find some of the info you are looking for.

Have Fun

Welcome to the family. If you dont mind spending the money and OGTS doesnt have the part, you can go to www.opelgtparts.com, they are a Dutch company specializing in the restoration of the Opel GT and you can get some other really cool modifications at www.leng-opel-tuning.de

Also dont forget about ebay and ebay.de

Hello and congrats on the new acquisition! Hope you enjoyed the drive and continue to over the many, we would hope, years to come.
Don't forget to use the 'Parts Wanted' section of the Ad board here. There's a wealth of parts out there in some of these folks garages and their prices can be a lot better. :D
Still have a goofy grin when I drive my GT. If you don't have the grin I hope you have the feeling.
