That looks a lot like my GT. I repaired the floors first. I removed all of the rusted floor, right back to the seat crossmember.
I made some mistakes, but now I have a solid floor.
(I just uploaded a picture of my floors to the gallery.)

Next is fenders and rear panel!

1970GT,

Well, I have seem worse GT's restored. Well, maybe one. If you want to see a similar GT restoration, surf to

I'll be honest, my first reaction was to suggest that you start looking for a GT with a lot less rust, and use this one for a parts car. Then, I thought, heck, with enough time and money, even THAT GT can be resurrected. But I am starting to drift back to my earlier sentiment. If you have a real love affair with that particular GT (which is Rudy's story), then it can probably be made roadworthy again. But for about twice what a better "base" GT will cost in total, and then some. And there are very few people out there who can accomplish what Rudy did.

Whatever you decide, good luck.

Where is the car located? I'm about 45 minutes NW of Philadelphia. I have an extra repro rocker panel from OGTS you can have for a couple of bucks if you want to pick it up.

Let me know.

jlthunder, i'm about 60 min N of philly, i just go to college in the city. i live in New Hope, PA....thats where the GT is. so you have one of these panels or two? that would be awesome, but does anyone think i should be worried about the structural integrity of the body? or will i just be able to cut out the rust and weld in new metal?

thanks!!!!
