Late post, but here ya go:
Well, got the wayward girl home on Sunday. Made the trip alright, no problems.
It went down like this:
Friday nite about 9pm we leave for SC. Got to the little hamlet of Seneca about 11:30 in the morning on Sat. Called/Looked around for towing bits, just in case. Scored a u-haul @ 1pm just before they closed. Found the mans house just after 2, and finally got to see the car. Man, looked alright from first glance, but then I opened the door.... Let's just say, the *entire* floorboard will need to be replaced. Had various tenents living there, had to do a last-minute eviction. Bonus: Car is *completely* original. Has been sitting since 1983. Damn! With a little nudging (and a tire-swap) she was on the tow dolly ready for her long trip home. (for the record, 693 miles) Along the way, we stopped frequently to check tires/rear end, etc.. Made it just fine, NOLA @ 3pm Sunday afternoon. Took some time on Monday after building bikes to clean/inspect her. After 2 loads of Shop-Vac cleaning, she looks *much* better. (got a bath in GA along the way) She's now in a garage, on jackstands, getting her naughty-bits removed..
Anyone know a good place to find some floor pans? Everything else is beautiful!
I'm considering a web-page to post the progress.. I dunno.. BTW, I have another GT in AZ for $400 if anyones interested... It needs the drivers side door and fender replaced. Runs, too!
