Has anyone replaced the reverse lockout cable in the GT shift lever? I believe I read somewhere once it's a Bowden cable, and that the knob is press fit. Mine seems to have broke and would appreciate any info from someone who has been there on how to repair it.
Thanks all :)

I just had this cable break in the GT that I bought recently. Does anyone have any tips on fixing it that aren't detailed in the repair manuals? Do I really need to get another shift knob? Any help would be appreciated.

It probably be WAY easier to just as the group to see if anyone has a spare GT shifter and replace the whole thing in about 5 minutes sitting in the driver's seat, just my $.02 worth

I have the same broken reverse lockout cable. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to take the cable out of the shifter base in order to replace it with a new one. I already have the tranny out as part of a clutch replacement, so I can get to everything really easily, but I just can't figure out how to get at the cable inside there. For now I have just disabled the lockout mechanism, but would rather do it right.
