Public service announcement. There is a mass produced hitch that is almost a direct fit on a GT. . .

The only modification required to the hitch is a little grinding on the side plate radius to clear the bottom of the back panel. And before anyone asks it will clear the rear resonator and exhaust tips. View attachment 425945

For the most secure mounting I would recommend using the method shown on the old German instructions located in post #3 at the beginning of this thread. The next option would be to mount it per the Scion TC instructions using back up plates and carriage bolts.

Right now mine is held in place with square u-bolts in the body rail; however, the outer layer of metal does not seem to be thick enough to handle towing forces applied to u-bolts with no backup plates.
