Hope this is a good birthday and the day is great. Many more to come and happy Opeling.
Yes,for you moderators I put it there on purpose. A birthday for a builder should go in the performance section. :D

Happy Birtday Bob
Without your knowledgable input I am sure many of us would have lost interest in Opels long ago!!

Wow, 39 again, eh Bob! Happy Birthday, young fella. Gary and I will raise a glass of Canadian (or are you a Blue kind of guy?) to you at OMC this year. Are you SURE you can't make it?

By the bye, when did you find time to create your own web site? Maybe other folks have seen this, but it left me (typically) in awe...

Thanks everyone. I'm just getting up and about now from last night's celebrations, hmmm....don't remember it taking me that long to recover when I was in my '20's. But I got a few miles in on the bike this morning to sweat out the beer and clear my head.

Can't believe it's been 21 years since high school, and 22 years since I started tinkering with Opels, man time flies! In fact I spoke with Bill Daley (of Bill Daley Opel Parts) yesterday and we were commenting on that fact, I met Bill back in '84 so I've already known him for over 20 years too!

The website was not my doing, or even my idea. Hiro from these forums is one of the officers for the RROC (Retro Racing Opel Club) in France, and he asked if I minded if he reprinted some of the projects that I had worked on here for the club's website in France (in both French and English). So it's all his doing, not mine! I'm still computer illiterate!

Bob I started dealing with Smitty in the 70s. You have to look at the fun stuff along the way. You do great work and that's why you get copied so much. Age isn't a factor, it just means your on the higher end of the learning curve.

HB2U, Bob. Wouldn't worry too much about that last part . . . definitely the most Opel performance literate in the group and that's all that really counts here. Just think, in three years I'll be out of High School exactly twice as long as you  . . . kinda makes one think!

Happy Birthday Bob and the other Opeler's on todays list. Just went to Hiro's (Bob) site and refreshed myself on some of Bob's neat work from the past. Bob, I really think you were born a hundred years too late as you sure fit into the "old world craftsman" mold, when things had to be fabbed up, not ordered online. Thanks for all the help over the last several years.
Bestus,
James

Happy Birthday Bob!
And many-many more nice Opel projects to come!
Well here French Opelers just love your work,
And as most of them don't read English,
There is still plenty of translation to do for me in the future!
Your webpage in English is just a condensed version of your posts from this forum,
Then this version is the one I translate into French.
I hope Gary won't mind this,
But anyway when your real website will start,
I will only keep the French version to avoid overlaps.
Cheers from Paris, France,
Hiro

Just got in from a 3 day dog show playing catch-up reading all the threads and see this. I figured I missed out on Bob's Birthday then check the main page and by golly it is today. So I didn't miss out on saying,

A Very Happy Birthday, RB, and many more to come. Gotta be that way, a lot of us still need your expertise. :D

Riding a bike to clear the cobwebs? Not a motorcycle, I hope. Gotta have all the faculties operational for that. ;)

Well congratulations to you and all the Opelers jumping another milestone! The actual number of the birthday makes no difference - it's all in the brain.
So you're what - 25? :p
Wishing you many more,
