Hell, Texas!

How hot is it in Texas? If your GT suffers from vapour lock or the carb bowl boils dry when the car is stopped you may see a minor improvement with a heat sheild. They are just itty bits of ali sheet so it is easy to make a larger and better one from flat ali sheet.......

Or are you refering to the heat sheild over the exhaust system that is supsosed to keep the drivers feet a bit cooler??

eBay is fun though. :)

as for the passenger side footwell heatshield, its only a passenger, who cares about THEIR feet!!! just kidding, but that heatshield catches more tools than anything else on the car, really an annoying pain. heatsheild between the carb and intake would probably help alot in texas. my 72 auto GT didnt have one, so i put one on it and i did notice it started easier after hot-soaks. maybe the most important one is the one for the passenger side motor mount. the exhaust manifold just constantly bakes the engine mount. seems to be cars i've had without this shield have a broken engine mount, while the cars i've had with the shield seem to have some life left to them.

the lucky so and so's :D
Actual temp at 12:15 pm is a wonderful 75F and low humidity but in about 90 days you can add 30 degrees F to that and count on 100% humidity- thats when I plan on being in Edinburgh for your proper weather. Tea and crumpets, anyone?
