Make sure you had the key on. You can turn the engine with a screwdriver with the key off, but the coil won't have power unless the key is in the run position. I wouldn't worry too much about getting the car running until you can fix the starting issue. You need go get a multimeter and print off some how to articles on how to check voltage. If you can't find the problem with the diagram I posted on your other thread you may have a bad ign switch. If thats the case you can look up how to rig up a push button start.
I'm not finding anything, would I be able to use a remote starter switch? I could pick one of those up from any auto parts store

A remote starter switch is, essentially, the same as jumping the starter with a screwdriver.

You need a multimeter. They are less than $10 at harbor freight.
A lot of the time they are free if you buy something. Just look for the ads.

If you don't have a harbor freight nearby, Amazon will work.
