I don’t do body work for a few reasons. An experienced body man has the tools and experience to do the job better than I could, it would drive me nuts looking at my mistakes, and it would be stressful rather than fun. On the other hand, I do enjoy repairing and restoring all sorts of mechanical stuff. A man’s got to know his limitations!
Ditto, it sure is amazing watching the people on the site who really know what they’re doing and how amazing the restoration process is when they rescue one of these things though

Body work is actually pretty easy but requires a LOT of patience and a LOT of work.
The last motorcycle tank I did took 5 different rounds with bondo for a quarter sized dent.
I am not patient enough to do a whole car.

I can tell you that $12k is nothing compared to restoring a car....even if the body is in super condition...I believe after 3 years of work and really trying to save money I have probably about $15 or more in mine and it is no finished...I wish I had gone for one of those cars like you show...
