Ok So For some reason I thought they attach to the drivers side first. My 1969 Servic manual shows that and that is I think how they were wired up before. Am I wrong and imagining something? I don't think I have enough wire to attach the passenger side first anyways.
Mine are on the passenger side first, but there may be some differences between years. It doesn’t matter either way it will work the same.

Ok guys An update. So Friday I worked on the opel. I got the electric choke working by hooking it up to the windshield wiper green wire. Then the rest of the day was mostly goofing off and washing it and cleaning the chrome and polishing stuff.

Then saturday was the zanesville indiana car show which is like 3 miles from my grandparent's house. My dad took off work so he could come and help drive the cars there. We took the opel gt, my grandpa's 1966 midget with a bug eye front end, 1970 triumph spitfire, and the 1933 American austin suburban. I got the youngest award and my grandpa got 2 honorable mentions with the spitfire and the austin. Everybody like the opel and the austin. The mg and the triumph weren't as popular. On guy even said he wants to trade his corvette for a very nice opel gt!. It was a fun day and I got a guys phone number that has 2 opel gt's in a field about 70 miles from my house.

Picture time!

Ok guys another small update. So today I worked on the opel then we went to a local car show but didn't bring any cars to it. We got my tie rod ends done! So the tie rod end on the drivers side was wore out. I had a extra rack and pinion laying around and turns out those tie rods and still good. So we put that one on my car. I had to heat it up and put a pipe wrench on it to turn it. But it came out and the other one screwed in very nice. We screwed it in all the way because that was how it was before. We measured the toe in and toe out and it looks just fine. So we took it for a drive around the block. it drives a lot better and it seemed like it was running better today too. It started right up with 2 pumpsof gas and a little throttle and then it set into an idle right away! The steering wheel still chatters but we think that is the 25+ year old tires. So we can't really go above 50mph. 50mph is just right and the suspension is decent and it doesn't bottom out and it drives pretty nice for the little work we have done to it.

Ok guys just a little update. So I kind of forgot about this. So we tried to start up the 69 Gt last and it didn’t like to start with 1 or 2 pumps of gas. So my grandpa did an experiment earlier this week. He turned the car on for a few second for the electric fuel pump. Then cranked it without any pumps or any gas! Guess what it started every time just like a modern car! It was also like 70 degrees outside. I can’t believe it though my grandpa is a very good tuner and he says the opel starts like a modern car!

Ok guys another big update! So I went over to my grandparent’s house Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. We got a bunch done on this GT and my other gts. So on Monday we finally decided to start working on the 69. We started it up after lunch and I drove about 5 miles miles with my grandpa. It runs pretty good. Since my kick down cable is bad it only shifts full throttle at 4,000 rpm. So I asked my grandpa if I can manually shift it. He said sure. So I came up to a stop sign and shifted into low. I shifted into second at like 5,000 rpm and then third gear at like 4,500. By that time I was doing like 65mph which is the fastest I have ever drove it. It sounds very nice at those higher rpms. It is also a lot faster than I expected. The exhaust and weber and definitely helping that. My grandpa said I shouldn’t have stepped off the gas when I shifted though. So it wasn’t the fastest shifting.

Then we brought it home and we figured out the flasher relay thing wasn’t even plugged in. We plugged it in and the hazards started going off. That is because the switch is broken. So we dropped the column which was a pain because the bolts the previous owner put in was a pain to get off. Then we got the gauge cluster off. Then we found a radio since we had this apart we might as well put a radio in it. We had this 1997 road master radio. We tried it and it sounded like crap with the speakers that came with it. Then we found a 1980 audiovox that is in my box of parts from the other Gt’s. It sounded better. Then we got a panel for a opel gt that sits below the spare tire and it had speakers in it. We tried those and it sounds pretty good. So we had to trim the dash a little bit and we are in the process of putting it in. Then we got the speakers mounted in the back. Then I had to go home since I had school today. I will hopefully get pictures tonight. I might have no taken any though.

Ok guys big update! So on Saturday and on Sunday I worked on the 1969 Opel GT! We got some progress done! First we finished installing the radio. We got that finished up and it works very good for a 40 year old radio and speakers! I am really happy with it. Then we switched out the flasher switch and now the turn signals are working! Then we started installing door weatherstripping that I got brand new on ebay for a smoking deal. It is from ogts. Then Sunday we finished the rubber during that we found a couple mouse nests in the headliner! I vacuumed those out. Then we installed a radiator overflow bottle and we made a bracket for it and bolted it to the car. After that we made an actual battery hold down bracket so we got rid of the bungee cord. The car is all ready for Springfield! I also adjusted the brake pedal so the brakes are working amazing! Then we loaded the car on the trailer so It is ready for the 5 hour drive ahead of us. I have some pictures I will put on here when I get home from school.

I can’t wait for Springfield!

I forgot that there was a “report” button. I found it though. Next time I will do that.

Ok guys just a little update on the 69 gt. So we worked on it a little on Friday. We put a new fan belt on it. It took us like 1 hour. First we tried to get the fan belts that Gil gave us at springfield well that wouldn’t fit. So we took one of the yellow 72 gt. It fits perfect. Yes it is older but it works just fine. We started it up and man does it run good. For a cold start all you do is turn the key and don’t give it any gas or it won’t start.

Then after that nonsense I went to the local lkq junkyard a week ago and found a k&n cold air intake off a f150. I got it for only $30! It is worth like 4 times that! We didn’t really like the cold air intake that was on the GT since it wasn’t a true cold air intake. We chopped the hole in the radiator support bigger. Then got it to fit. It looks super cool! And it draws in a lot more cold air!
