I checked the search and didn't get any hits so this subject probably hasn't been discussed before.

My current insurance company has stopped doing autos with a stated amount of value. They now write with a company called Heritage. The agent says the rates are dirt cheap and have no deductibles. Down side is they are extremely picky about where and how much you drive it i.e. can't drive it to work or even to the store! Can do Sunday driving and parades, swap meets.

I plan to fix up and replace components on the 1970 GT. Would like to drive it occasionally to work (show it off) and possibly a couple of short trips (4 hour) a year. This will porbably NOT be a car show entry.

Suggestions on companies to check out?

Hey Cougar. Do you use that military insurer? Possibility because I'm a Guardsman.

Thanks in advance for suggestions:)

I am with Met Life. It was fairley cheap (~$250) for $6000 set value. The only retrictions on use is no commmuting to work and 3500 miles/y. Other then that I can drive it anywhere, not just club events.

Grundy will do it with stated value, just can't use it for anything other than pleasure or show (i.e. no running it to the grocery store, except that on weekends with the kids and wife, I do consider the grocery store pleasure-I know, I need to work on that attitude)
My price quote was $66/ 6months.

Yeah we did this back in Feb. I use Mountain West Farm Bureau $127.00 a year no kind of restrictions $200.00 deductable and that includes hail damage. Something you definitely want here. They service mainly the Rocky Mountain and Black Hills area with this paticular plan but I wouldn't be suprised if they service your area, your not that far from me...

I have my Challenger insured through Hagerty... $220 a year for zero deductable, stated value and loose interpretations on pleasure driving - just no "timed events". My Chally is insured for $14000 so a typical gt would be similar to less.

Bret, did you go with Grundy? I got a great price quote from Grundy, and am wondering if anyone has every made a claim with them.

Try Condon and Skelly. They are a MetLife Company that specializes in classic cars. They have agreed value and their rates are great. My agent and I read the policy front to back and there are almost no restrictions on driving.

I use J.C. Taylor. I have PA antique tags and only pay $58/year. I told them I would only drive approx 1000 miles a year. If I want collision, it goes up to $88/year. The only restriction is that I have to keep it in a locked garage. I am located in southeast Pennsylvania. Here is their link http://www.jctaylor.com/
