Jeff's 70 GT Project

Got my 1970 GT home a few days ago. So many needs, the search for parts already begins. nice start from a fellow in Minnesota with some of my needs. He has Miata seats set up to fit the GT and based on how hard it is to find useable stock seats I might pick them up. The one seat that came with the car needs a new cover of course. that motor is stuck so need to think about my options...rebuild or swap.

you are correct, looking for one which would speed up the process. do have the doors and hood. an interior would be nice.

Good luck with your project. Nothing better than starting with a shell except you did not have the pleasure of taking it all apart. You will find lots of useful information and helpful people on this site.

My last 2 cars were basically shells that had been heavily modified to look cool. Fixing them up turned me into a modification maniac. I enjoy the search for parts and REALLY enjoy modifying the heck out of them. No big engines or anything, just interior and exterior styling and functionality mods. Have fun! :)

I know where two pasture GTs are sitting, that would have parts you could use. Unfortunately the guy who owns them thinks he has solid gold. Good luck!

No surprise, and in the pasture they continue to rot away. Sad.
Sometimes frozen engines stay frozen. Got pistons out, waiting for my machine shop to have some time to inspect. I’m hoping honing will clean up the cylinder walls, they looked pretty decent. Long run rebuild will make it a better car.
