Made it home safely. We had a great time and got to drive some excellent roads. Thank you to Jerseygirl for organizing this event and for the great hospitality at our lunch stop! It was really nice to get the car out and enjoy what turned out to be a beautiful Fall day.

Great run, really nice people with nice cars and the rain kindly held off for the leaky ones! Jerseygirl, great hospitality and generosity (and tasty spring water). We have a new set of friends, can't wait for next year.
There were more cars than shown here, a few early departures.

I'm so glad you guys decided to join us and add some variety to this year's run.

I just got home a few minutes ago. Sadly, Baldrick is now completely dead. I made it about two miles from my parents house when the engine starting making a strange noise. I turned around to go back and barely managed to limp him up the driveway. No power at all even with my foot to the floor and as soon as I let off, the engine stalls. Sounds like the engine is toast. It was making quite a racket as I crawled up the driveway.

Had to make the trip home in the old Mercedes that was parked in the field yesterday.

See you guys at Carlisle and on the run next year... most likely not in my Spitfire... :sigh:

We made it home safely. Thank you for putting this together. My son and I had a great time. He fell asleep on the way home. Next year the trailer will stay home so I can take those curves more aggressively. The food, ice cream and people were great.

Sorry to hear about your Spitfire. I hope he will be back on the road soon.

We were back in the area today with the Boy Scouts hiking the Appalachian Trail by Palmerton. The Opel stayed home to rest but the Saab went. 2 days in the mountains with perfect weather, what more could you ask for!!

Thanks again.

Robyn,
Surely you can call a few mates for a swap out on your cute little car there. I would guess the spitfire community would be huge with lots of spares about. But it did get you home, which is a car's true last measure of devotion. :D
Thanks again for everything.

I've got a lead on a possible engine replacement for Baldrick, so crossing my fingers that works out. The plan is to go back out to PA this weekend with a friend's trailer and at least bring him home before the mice and other wildlife in Dad's barn have their way with him. After that he'll get pushed to the back of the garage for a while.

Paul (Volvo 1800) took some nice pictures during the run and finally got around to posting them, so I figured I'd share... :)
