Interesting. I was thinking about painting or vinyl stripes but I'm a ways off before paint on the car. Could always paint the whole car then add vinyl stripes later if desired I guess.

Some people don't car for vinyl, but it is how alot of the muscle car graphics were done. The nice thing is it is removable, although the paint under the vinyl might show ghosting after removal due to the rest of the paint ageing.

Also, you are not limited to simple straight stripes. Any sign shop that cuts vinyl can cut custom graphics or details in this material as well. One of our members, aside from myself, works in or has a sign shop.

Yep. Have a bag of the White to Blue glow in the dark and a whole bunch of Gun Metal Black Candy.
I'm seriously thinking of the Shimmer Wine Red Candy over the orange on my GT.
Not a heavy coat but just enough to see it gleam.
I've sprayed a lot of pearls over the years.

As a side note. I just finished some Gun Metal Black Candy in what some would find a weird way.
A small project, I sprayed a clear then dumped the candy over that.
Then I hand rubbed it in. I did 2 coats that way.

Tomorrow I'll add more Gun Metal and some glow in the dark to high lite areas along with a few other colors. All that will be air brush work.

There's some crazy pearls out there that can do some wild stuff!
I have a bag of white pearl that glows blue in the dark!
That same company has pearls that are heat sensitive and change colors!

I saw that in PA! dsmith's 3.4 V6!
I've seen this car in person at Carlisle PA back in 2013. I love it but can't stand the centred hood bump. Lol

I have to appreciate the work to move that bump!
I got to see that Opel on a lift then lowered down to really see it.
Fantastic work!
And I got to see what Mike is doing.
Again.
Fantastic work!

Very fancy stuff!
I explored this a couple years ago. Definitely not to be used on a driver. This stuff is fragile and would only work on a show car.

Been a while since I posted on this project but body work takes me a long time and I kinda suck at it. But the chassis is finally painted Hydro Blue Pearlcoat. Same paint that is on the current Jeeps. Will have to cut and buff the clearcoat down eventually but I may wait until the spring to do that once it is cured and hard. I'm planning to hand paint gloss black Rustoleum in the wheel wells and undercarriage. I did this on my yellow GT and my son has done this on the BubbaGump GT project. It just makes it pop so much better.

Fantastic Job!
Looks like I may have to plan a trip to Dayton to do the Bumpers trade.
OK. That's just a cover to see the work.

Blue is dangerous. I'm torn between planning on green or blue for mine. GT's just wear the color so well.
I love a good shade of blue on a car! Especially cars with curves or nice body lines that can be highlighted. I’ve had more blue cars in my life than all the other colors combined. Obviously, I’m partial to blue on a GT, but I think the right shade of blue for the right car can be the perfect color choice.
My second choice would be green too! I really liked the latest gen Camaro that had a color called Synergy Green and I think that the color the NY Jets use for their new helmets would be cool too.

JayHawk, you are spot on! As a matter of fact when I build my new V6 GT a year or so from now it will be that "Synergy Green" color from the Camaro you pictured. I really like that blacked out look with that scheme!

For blue, I'd either go with Strato Blue (and I have the mixing info for that color) or I'd go with a dark blue like Lexus Ultrasonic Blue Mica or House of Kolor Kandy Cobalt Blue over Orion Silver... click to enlarge... these blues really pop.

For green, I'm considering a lot of options. GM's Synergy Green is one of them and then there are others...all images are thumbnails, so click to enlarge.
Rainforest Green Pearl - found on eBay

GM Rallye Green

Ford Grabber Green Metallic

Alfa Romeo Verde Montreal - this pic doesn't do the color justice. You have to look at lots of photos to see this green pop.

1973 Buick Jade Green

and then this color, which is either House of Kolor Planet Green or Organic Green.

You can see what I'm aiming for, it's a tricky shade of green. Can't be too dark or too bright.

Ya know...
Green, when it's fresh and shiny, looks pretty awesome. When it loses it's shine it looks like algae.
Blue, however, always looks BLUE.

(I'm painting mine deep burgundy)
