Does anyone know of a relatively (as far as swapping rear axles go) easy swap to get limited slip? I´ve read that some Opels in Europe could come with a limited slip, so could that mean they might have made it over here? Any help would be appreciated, since im planning on doing some auto-x, and feel the limited slip would help out quite a bit, since I get plenty of single tire spin trying to accelerate out of corners. :]

Thanks

Hey Cool Blue 72 ,
You Can Also check out quaife.co.uk they have limited slip carriers that are excellent.

I have found a differential for the Gt at www.quaifeusa.com that costs $945.00 part # 45.309.150. This particular one comes with a lifetime warrenty even if used for race applications. Hope this helps.

I installed a Phantom Grip unit in my autocross Manta about 8 months ago. I ordered it directly from Phantom Grip, sent them my diff, and had it back within a week. I have since installed stiffer springs in the unit which was a straight forward procedure.

I have been pleased with the performance of the unit and is a vast improvement over a locked or open rear end.

Yup, they work pretty well as far as limited slips go. However, keep in mind that the unit does not replace/eliminate the stock Opel side gears and spider gears in the differential, unlike a Quaife or ZF limited slip. That being said, the differential is still very breakable, I've broken three Opel rear axles with the friction-block type differential (most recently this past fall), simply because having both tires grip now puts more loading on the stock spider gears, and they've shattered. With sticky tires, watch out, they're not indestructable.

You will have to install a ZF or Quaife limited slip, the Phantom grip will not make it stronger, it will only act as a limited slip.
