Not sure where this thread should go but I need a detent cable for my '71 Kadett w/1.9 liter engine and 3-speed auto tranny. Mine is frayed and ready to break. OGTS is looking for me but I'm wondering if there are any other sources to try.

Try your local GM parts dealers - just don't tell them it is for an Opel!
Ask for a "TH180 auto trans detent cable - like this one"
You may be surprised as the trans was fitted to everything from Suzukis to Novas.

Yea, we used to used Fiat Spider detent cables (they use the TH180) on Opel GT's, near perfect fit. I don't recall the length of the Kadett detent cables however, not sure if it would work?

I'll remove the old cable and seeif I can find a match. Can't wait to get the l'il bugger on the road. Just fired it up last Saturday. Still need help tuning the solex carb..I know..get a Weber...that'll be a bit later. I plan on ice racing the kadett this winter.
