Hi all!
I live in North Carolina and am looking to find a cheap drivable Opel GT but am leery of buying on Ebay. Will you all check out this car and tell me if you think its worth the asking price. The car is in Texas, and i dont want to drive that far and make a mistake. Thanks for any help!!!

I live in North Carolina and there are others who have gotten together to form a Carolina Opel Club. We are having a meeting in High Point this Saturday if you would like to attend. We may be able to help you find a GT. WE will also be having a couple of demonstrations on how to work on different parts of the Opel, too!

In my opinion, I'd say "yes". It looks like a sound little thing. Smoke could be from sitting. Like I said, I would.

find out where it was BEFORE TX. Rust is an issue with a 30+ year old car. the further south or west the better.

You need to check for rust under the car, rockers belly pan, the wheel wells ask for pictures of that

Pluses & Minuses

The car looks like it has been kept clean and dry - no leaves in the area under the windscreen and the engine bay is reasonably tidy. There is a large part of a GM aircon system in the back and it has Turbine mags.

On the other hand there are rust bubbles under the rear side window and the interior looks a bit too "red" - like things have nbeen painted??? Also the bumpers appear to have been painted black over chrome for some reason.

However with a "Buy it Now" of only $1,725 ( guess the reserve is $1,500 ) that is not a lot of cash to risk. It is your cash though!
