Hello!

I was changing the springs on my '74 manta;
During the process i discovered this: when the lower arm was free it could move approx. 2inches forward and back (not only up and down); it felt like bending something soft - when I stopped applying force it went back to its position

Is this normal or are the susp. bushes totaly worn?

The sway bar helps to locate the arm, so if it is not connected, then you will have a fair amount of movement fore and aft.
But the bushing could be worn, too.

ok, so i guess this should be normal then! But as soon as possible I'll change the bushes (better safe than sorry)
