Hi IT MANTA,

Living over here in the UK I guess I may get to hear about such things especially as my dad previously owned the rare 'A' series GT/E known as 'Black Magic' I often go looking for anything related to the old 'A' series GT/E's and you may get lucky checking out the german ebay.de site.

The other solution would be to get the decals made up as it shouldn't be too costly, unless of course you're refering to the rear GT/E badge that goes on the boot (trunk) lid.

Hope this helps?

ITManta;
If you're after the badges (metal emblems) check out the German EBAY, I have seen a couple on there recently. If you're looking for the stripes, be patient, I may have someone who can duplicate them. We'll see.

Thanks guys,

I actually have been checking out the German E-bay site the last week or so. Some really neet stuff to be found. No Manta A G/T E stuff yet, although it would be real cool to have those manta rays on my fenders. I want to build my ITB car as a G/T E clone, and will have stickers made if necessary.

I got some of the Manta ray side emblems years ago from Germany (just found them on a shelf in my barn in fact), and decided that rather than risk the rare emblems on a racecar, I would transfer the Manta ray outline via another method.

I traced the emblem onto some thin card stock, and cut out the shape with an x-acto knife. I now have a template, which I will use to spray-paint an emblem onto each side of the GT-4 Manta while it's still in the base-coat phase of painting, then I'll clear-coat over the painted-on emblems.

On a similar note, for my hillclimb Manta I had taken a rear 'Rallye' emblem and made a mold from it with flexible molding silicone, and poured a few new 'emblems' with Devcon aluminum epoxy. I then painted them as the originals, and siliconed them to the front fenders (flared). Looks kinda cool, and I don't worry about losing them because I can make more....

Well, you have two options. I can send you another stencil of the manta-ray like I have, and you can paint them onto your car like I've done.

Or I can have my friend make a decal of the manta-ray, he has a decal-cutter at home and races an ITB car ironically, so he's used to making racing vinyl. The second option may take longer, I don't know his schedule.
