I am in the market for a 72 Wagon Manta/Ascona heater core. Are there any cross referenced heater cores that would work in place of the original? Seems I can't find a new or good used one.

Just tested the one in the wagon Terry (Trod) and I took out and it's bad!

Thus one is probably beyond repair but I just had someone reply and is shipping it to me tomorrow! I guess I could run it by a radiator shop to see if it can be fixed. If so, I'll have a spare!

My local radiator shop has bulk 'sheet' of heater core material, and has made them for me in the past. Price dropped drastically when I ordered 6 or more at a time. They re-used the old tanks, but replaced the core itself.
