Michigan Opel Meet June 28th, 2003

The Members of the Michigan Opel Group would like to invite one and all to our second annual Michigan Opel Meet Saturday June 28th 12 noon until dark.. the group will meet at Rayner Park located at 700 East Ash St (M-36) Mason Michigan (just South of Lansing)... take the cedar st exit off of 127 and go east to the second trafffic light. turn left and go about 2 miles... Rayner Park is on the right just before the fairgrounds... this year we hope to have a cookout and have a parts swap. bring your own food and drink and any parts you want to sell or trade

Last year we had about 10 gt's there and a great time was had by all, check out the photo's in the gallery section.... Come and Join us!!!

Michigan meet

Joe I'm Pat the white Opel blk stripe We met at my house for the first get together. I was wondering what happened to you guys. I'm thinking of going to Cal. for the big meet in Aug. is anyone else going?

lansing is only an hour and 20 minutes away from me. i'll be there in my white GT with blue stripe, or 1 of two mantas.

Sounds like a good time! Having lived up in the T.C. area I've just got to ask...What's the "Swow Date" for this gathering?

Seriously though, if any of you know of the whereabouts of the car in my avatar, could you drop me a line? It was an Opel GT drag car that ran at Mid-Michigan in Stanton in the mid 80's. The car was named "Flyin' Fireman".....Don't have too much fun!

Michigan Meet

I just acquired a 72 GT from Cadillac Michigan and just moved to the Detroit area this past summer. I'd like to meet some michigan GT folks but you're right. The message says 2003?

Yeah...has anyone heard from Joe lately? I remember last year he was contemplating coming to Carlisle.

Michigan meet

I E-mailed Joe last night but did not hear back from him yet. Pick a date and we'll start right now on a Mich meet. How about the first weekend after the 4th of July. I live 30 miles south of Grand Rapids.

GR is an hour away, that'd make you only a half hour away albea. the local classic arcade has a "shine n' show" car show every year in august. maybe 2-3 michigan meets this year would be nice. i'll be up for any meets after the next couple weeks.

Mark, so you're in Berkley? I live in Troy.

Lee Johnston, Opel Guru and racer lives in Berkley. I've still got a ton of his parts I rescued last summer cluttering up my house. I suppose I should contact him - it's been a while.

Aside from the proposed MI get together, who's going to Carlisle? I'll be heading out 5/21 in my Manta.

Mark, did you used to own a shop and race SCCA and P.O.R. rallies out of Traverse City a "few" years ago? Just curious as we might have common friends in the T.C area!
