Monza in the Snow....

1104 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  GTJIM (R.I.P.)
Woke up this morning and this is the back yard ..... It is suposed to be mid-Spring "Down Under" not the middle of Winter.
The footsteps in the snow are those of our intrepid Postie who delivered an Opel "care" package that came from the UK.

Thanks Jim!!!
Here I am basking in the late fall sunshine, not a thought about weather...and you send the reality check... :(
Winter sucks!
That's some spring you've got there. It's supposed to be early fall here and the other day my parents said they were expecting temps around 97. Still, we've had some nice days in the 70's - I love fall.
Didn't know you had sweetpeas in N.Z. Hope they don't give you as much trouble as they give me - they might just try to eat the Monza. :p
Nice, wet, heavy snow. Just like we soon will get here. We didn`t have any summer either. Just cold weather and rain, rain, rain and rain. Haven`t seen such a rainy summer for many many years. Hope you are going to get a warm nice summer!

That is another Opel story .......

They grow wild here on the Port Hills and while taking a nice relaxing Opel drive a mass of them on the side of the road took Trish's eye. Crimson and Pink ones growing together - hanging over a cliff edge. There were some nice dried seed pods out over the edge, just beyond my reach...... "Just lean out further and grab them" I was instructed.... But I might fall over the 180 foot cliff!! ...."Grab them and keep your hand clenched so that I can recover them at the bottom of the cliff then!"
Ain't love grand.

They grow nicely controlled in our garden and the tips of the shoots get eaten as a delicacy.
