Hello,

Let me start by saying that i have a '74 Ascona with a manta front end that i converted to a 4 speed a couple months ago.

about a year ago(when it was an automatic) i put a tach in it, that worked fine until i stuck a MSD electronic ignition in it. I dont know what kind it is off the top of my head but i think it is a 6A.

anyway, after i put it in there the tach refused to move past 1k unless revving really high. I didn't mind at the time, being an automatic and all, but now that i have a 4 speed in there it would be kinda nice to have a tach that works.

I asked my dad (another opelholic) what to do and he said i had to make a circuit or or something like that. I was wondering if anybody has fixed this problem before or if you know what i need to do to get my tach working again:confused:

Thanks, i appreciate your help

Robert,

I had the same problem when I put the MSD in mine. I had to get a tach adapter box from them to get it to work. I think it cost $30, but it's been a couple of years. Check their (MSD) web site, it should be in there.
