Hello! I located and will buy tomorrow a brand new Bosch distributor for my Ascona. It is new old stock, still sealed in it's original package. Pior to installation, I will lubricate every part on the breaker plate assembly, that the FSM specifies at the routine maintenance (lobe cam/pad/and at the plates)...

Would you guys recommend anything else done to it as maintenance prior to installation?

Also oil felt pad inside disti shaft under rotor. Check to see that mechanical advance operates freely (hold disti shaft by drive gear and rotate rotor CW). That should cover it. Make sure to install paper gasket between distributor housing and timing cover.
