Welcome to the community. Looks like you found a nice GT. No rust and straight body is a huge plus. If the engine is not locked, I am guessing it won't take long to get it running. The mechanicals are pretty robust, and not very complicated. These guys managed to get this one running and driving after it sat (mostly outside) for 30 years. Let's see some pics of the engine bay. Also, it looks like the bumpers on the car are OEM. Are you looking to replace with aftermarket ones? Stainless steel repros are available for a decent price. Anything else will need to be fabricated. Good luck, and keep us posted.

Thanks for the reply I worked on the car today fuel was drained fresh fuel was added and the oil was changed tried to start found that the fuel pump is dead got the engine running with carburetor cleaner it runs great I ordered new fuel pump and new bumpers from California
Also sent the rims to be sand blasted and repainted
As it stands everything looked great except the automatic transmission which I will find out after the car is running
Probably by next week

The right quarter close to the wheel openings has a rust spot today I wire wheeled the spot and I am very happy to report it was a scratch with a little dent that rusted but it is not true the sheet metal just needs a little repair and paint underneath the car is completely rust free it looks like a great project

That is an awesome find indeed! Great looking GT. It is pretty rare to find a GT with so little rust! Congrats on that! Welcome to the site.

Lookin' good! Welcome to the party! I'm down here in Jersey near Philly.

Many parts you may need can be acquired from a member near you named "opelmeister".

The aftermarket bumpers are excellent and made by a Vietnamese company that decided to corner the market and make stainless steel bumpers for every chromed bumper car ever made. I only buy the front bumpers from them and they fit better than the originals and can take a bump without denting. I've heard that fitting the license plate lights into the rear bumpers takes a little work, but otherwise a great product at a reasonable price.

Works on my opel is going great Saturday I replaced the bumpers with the new stainless ones they fit perfectly and look great my engine started great after I replaced the fuel pump and some hoses
Found the rear brake hose blocked and ordered a replacement it’s available from parts authority local and replaced the brake line going into the hose (rusted) I need new license plate lights the plastic is coming apart
Are they available in metal?
Washing the car from 20 years of dirt shows that the paint is oxidized I’ll take it to the body shop tomorrow to see if they can help

Glad to hear you got it running. You may be able to save the paint and spot repair the quarter panel. Have fun with it, these cars are a blast to drive and fairly easy to work on.
