Im a new UK owner of a '69 GT. We plan to totally strip her and rebuild with every nut and bolt being replaced.

We have managed to get the original 1900 engine running sweet and are considering selling the engine as we would like to pop in a vaux twin cam with throttle bodies or even twin 48 side draughts.

Paint - possibly a house of kolor midnight blue with a clear coat and heavy gold metalflake.

Im gonna be after a cage for her, so any ideas would be gratefully received.

Seats can go, as can most of the interior, dash can go as were not having one, theres probably gonna be a few spares if anyone wants to make offers.

Were based in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, so any owners nearby can get in touch. Our web address is www.g-spec.co.uk.

Thanks very much

Pete

a up mate, im pretty new to this site, just been reading some of the threads put on by all the brits.
i havent got a Gt yet just weighin up the pros and cons. hows yours comin on you done anything with then engine yet?
im just wondering if you could help me out?
have you been ok getting the parts no-doubt youv needed some,
also how difficult is the twin cam engine swap you where talking about?
i understand that the 1.9l isnt the best engine but i was thinkin about boring it and then fittin a supercharger.
but if the swap proves to be better then that may be the road i choose.
having sed that i need to get a GT first!:lmao:

cheers for anyhelp you can offer some pics would be nice if you dont mind that is cheers danny

danny he kind of dropped off the map , has not posted or been on the site for 2 years now

theres a good few folks done the red top swop if you look for i think its "rcleeds" photos it shows what he did to put the red top in his , you need to get one from an omega to get the rwd gear box and you need the loom to run it , nothing hard to do with a little skill

Baz, Danny;
I don't mean to cut in, but, I didn't realize the 2.0 16V motor was also available in the UK. Sorry, just me being a dumb ole country boy:D Anyway, I have the correct getrag 5-spd to go with one of these motors (starter on opposite side from 1.9) and I'm looking to get one off these motors, about how much do they run and how available are they?

hey BQS4, yah they are available over here they came in a few cars, standard they run around the 130-150 bhp i believe.
they did a turbo charged one which was fitted into a car called a calibra
(dont know if you know of them or not) that was 200 bhp standard but was 4 wheel drive.
if you go on ebay.co.uk there are usually some on there aswell as a load of parts
hope that help

Sorry Guys, i've not been on here for a while.

The reason G-Spec dropped the build was because they wanted to concentrate on Jap stuff........anyway i know a man who bought the car :).......and it's since been moved on......but then again i have a enough projects.

There are a couple of GT's running the 16v engine and 1 being built with the LET lump.....As for me it's 'stroked' CIH all the way :)
