It’s that time again!

Mach1tom and I are hosting a gathering at my house on Saturday, August 28th.

Actually, anytime Friday night to Sunday for anyone who may be thinking of traveling.

The main meet will be on Saturday the 28th.
There is “camping” on the property for any out-of-towners and indoor floor space available.

There will be food, drink and plenty of B.S!!

I am located off of interstate 79 Exit 154. It’s about 1/2 hour south of Erie and 17 miles north of Meadville.

Contact Tom or myself for directions.
Hope to see you there!!

Ron:

We are planning to be there. We probably will go home Saturday night, though, because Monday is my first day back to school :sigh:

Jo Anne and I will be there also, but we will be heading back home Saturday evening because of our 4 min pins.

I will try to make it again this year, but will have to dovetail with moving Adam back into Pitt. Holy Cow - he's in his junior year already ! I think he plans on having his car there this year, so that should leave room in the truck for my cot and clothes.

Looks like we will have a good turn out again this year.

I talked to my friend Steve yesterday & he has offered to supply the food again from his BBQ business.

North West Opel Gathering

Anyone coming to the gathering Jo Anne and I need a gt front bumper and left rear bumper to be rechromed.

I also need a dash pad for a 67.5 Ralley or 66 Kadett.:)

well, it looks like i won't make it afterall. i'll be getting my head back from the machine shop and will be tearing everything apart and put it back together that weekend. and i'm also working 60 hrs again(woo hoo). i'm hoping it all goes together smooth and it will be running again by that Sunday. i'm really resisting the urge to take the whole front end out and redo everything else. i don't have a hoist right now though.

1 More Week

Pete - Sorry you won't be able to make it. Those are the 2 best excuses to have, working overtime & fixing an Opel. Good luck & if you run into trouble there should be about 20 maybe slightly intoxicated Opelers 2 hours to the East willing to give you some advice.:ugh: ( I don't drink anymore so call my phone):yup:

Sam - Glad you're going to make the drive out. Not sure if you are following Vickie & that crowd, if not, PM or Email if you need directions or cell #'s. It's only 3 turns off of I-79. Two country highways & a dirt road. It's pretty easy to get to.

Don - There are some bumpers here that need a ding or two taken out & need chromed. I'm sure if no one else has something, you can pick from these.

I spent Sat & Sun at Ron's getting a few things organized. That was after my 104.5 fever & chills went away that I had for a few days during the week. I even washed & cleaned out the "A" wagon so it will be outside instead of stuck in the corner. No pics until after the event though.

Some people haven't posted, but there should be 4 or more from of the Philly crowd coming out along with some other PA Opelers.

The Canadians are welcome too (Hint, Hint), it's not too far South of the border for some of you.

I'm a coming....

Hey Tom,
I'm hearing your hints...lol...that was one of the reasons to get Manta Eh out on the run to Cornwall and back last weekend...a bit of a shakedown for running South next weekend...
I might just have to hit the beerstore before the weekend....just on the off chance anyone wants some Steamwhistle......
I'm a 90% yes at the moment....the 10% is outwith my control (friggin' work responsibilities....bleuch!)
Looking forward to seeing you and the gang...
Cheers, Rob.

Excellent

Rob, that's great. I really hope you can make it. I sent a PM with directions & phone #'s

BTW - if you need gas or anything else, make a left at the Edinboro exit instead. There are 2 gas stations & a Wal-Mart shopping center a block away. Because after that there is nothing for about 20 miles south to the next real town. Ron lives in the country on a dirt road. :yup:

Hope to see you next weekend,
~ Tom

Well, I am one of the non posters, but we will be there sometime Friday evening. They moved the time window for us to drop Shelby off at college, so we'll be there a little bit later than we first thought. We're looking forward to a fun relaxing weekend. :yup:

The truck is packed - Adam and I will be leaving around 6:00 am to go to Pitt for move-in. I'm staying there until Wednesday morning, then driving to Altoona to celebrate an aunt's 96th birthday. Friday late morning I'll be leaving for Ron's (so I can arrive in daylight this time). A return trip to Altoona on Sunday, then leave for home on Monday with passengers. A nice relaxing week !
See ya Friday !

Sorry I don't think I'll be out this year. Just got back from my camping vacation and my back is a little iffy!! I think my wife would prefer I stay home this weekend also.
