Opeler's,

I would like to add an oil cooler to my 1973 GT. I have used the search feature and found much discussion of the topic, however, no specifics regarding part numbers or sources. What is a good source for the "sandwich" plate? I plan to have oil lines fabricated locally and source the cooler via Summit racing. Has anyone modified the adapter (threaded central union that holds the plate to the original filter location) of the "sandwich" plate to work with a more readily available filter?

Thanks,
Brian

After a little research I have learned that the adapter for the oil cooler is relatively easy to source since it is common to MG's (B's, Sprites and the like), and older Mini's. Since these cars were frequently raced the parts are available. My greater concern is that there does not appear to be room for the "sandwich" plate on the GT due to close clearance with the front crossmember.

Has anyone found one that will work?

Is a remote filter and cooler the only option?

Thanks,
Brian
