On my 71 GT with the early Kadett 1.9L engine,the
oil pressure sensor has never been hooked up. In fact , it looks like the PO put some kind of plug into the block where it belongs. My question s since it is almost impossible to work on the passenger side of the engine from the top and almost as tight from the bottom with the oil dipstick in the way- could you drill out the oil filter holder and tap it so as to take the oil sensor??????

Can you remove the right side motor mount with the car on a lift? Will that give you enough room to replace the oil pressure sender? I don't know if the oil filter gets the same pressure as the oil pressure sender. It seems like the sender gets the highest amount of oil pressue (last drop of oil). Was the previous owner another silly Texan?
