Would these rims be of any interest to anyone? I was told they came off a gt I bought years ago but have not tried to see if they fit. Bolt pattern looks correct?? They are marked ARSON SPRINT I dont know the actual size as of yet, they are very dirty and I havent tried cleaning them nor do I have any desire to! With some elbow grease these would clean up nice! I'm pretty sure they are aluminum?They are offset So I dont think you'd need a spacer,and would be pretty cool all polished up. I'm in Wisconsin send a PM if interested.

Joe, you could check the size and offset easily. Just measure the distance from inside bead flange to inside bead flange, that gives you wheel width. For offset, lay a straight edge across the inside flange and measure from it to the back side of the center mounting flange. Kinda hard to describe with words, but there is a pic of me measuring both in my "Willit? Update" thread. BTW, those are commonly called slotted mag wheels. HTH.

Two of them look to be in the 5-5 1/2" range, the other deep looking ones look to be in the 7" range.

The slicks measure 8" inside bead to inside bead with a 3-1/4" offset. The front have a A70-13 tire on them but 5" looks about the width.I havent got a clue to what they are worth, anyone wanna trade a used weber for them? Or is that WAAAY too much? Throw some numbers at me fellas, I need a weber so the sale of these would fund that!

I need one ASAP 13x 7 in ET 5 slot rim

I am running 3 of these and would like one in a 7 in width X 13 dia. if this is set that someone needs, dont break it for me, BUT does someone have an extra single wheel to replace a bent one for me?

PS: the ET centers are easy to find on ebay , new condition for about 25-35 a set.

what are they worth?

1- I think if someone swapped you a weber 32-36 that was jetted correctly,
rebuilt,tested and ready to bolt on with the linkage piece, and thick gasket that would be a fair swap for the rims and shipping.you could be running with a new carb in 1 hour or less...air filter and housing would be nice too. A good deal for you.

2- in the opel club, a set of 4 slotted mags is commonly traded or sold for around $130-150 w/o bolts or center caps...i consider this as a price amoung friends.


the best option is #1, you will be up and running the fastest at the lowest cost.

you may get more $$ ebay or you may not...with the funds ,you would be back on ebay loooking for a carb that may not fit or may not work properly.

3- the rims need to be verified for fit and "TRUEness"..like a bike wheel.
these are my opinions for what that is worth.

Thank you, that is excactly what I was thinking/hoping for., I wouldnt want anyone elses junk no more than someone to get mine!! Any Takers????? BTW I'm looking for a water choke Carb.

The electric chokes on webers work great, plus less clutter that you have to work around just to do a tune-up.

Water choke! Water choke! It's the only way to go, much more consistent.

I, too, would be interested in the wheels.

O.K. Since there are a few interested in these, I'll put them on my car and check clearances and spin them to test for wobbles. OR>>>>> should I take them to a shop and have them check em? it"ll probly cost a few bucks to do this but,I need to back these up somehow, i wouldnt want any "accidents" from my ignorance. Who knows,if this trade doesnt pan out maybe I'll keep them. I think I'll stick with a water choke carb!!!

One way to do a simple, basic wobble test....

bolt the wheel on the hub, preferably the front hub, make sure both the back side of the wheel and the hub are nice and clean, place a piece of white cardboard or something like it behind the wheel. Shine a light on the cardboard in such a way that you can't see the light itself but it basically silhouettes the wheel. Get nice and comfy leaning against something so you are stable and not wobbling. Look across the wheel at the cardboard. Now spin the wheel. You should be able to see any bounce, wobble or bends.

Putting a piece of graph paper on the cardboard can enhance your ability to see and variations as the movement would show up well with the graph lines behind the wheel.

It's pretty simple, even simpler than trying to explain it, but do make sure your wheelbearings are good.

Are you looking for a Solex or Weber?

There is a place in the Dallas area that can fix you bent wheel as good as new, they guaranty there work you can also hae your other three reconditioned also guaranteed and they will look like new. Check with Otto 'tekenaar' he has had several sets refurbished and or repaired.

Well out of the 5 webers (32/36) that I have 4 are electric chock and one is a cable operated choke, I will throw in a Weber plus what ever else you would be interested in and if I have it, I will accept your rims 'as is', less the tires on the front rims and I will pay shipping to Springfield, MO plus pay shipping from TX to you on the Weber + what ever. If you are currently running a Solex I have several rebuild kits for them, also have a electric choke for a Solex.

there is a shop here in KC Mo that is known by the gear heads to be able to straighten mags, something about an expensive press that they have at one of their stores.

they fixed a friends mag, but could not fix mine for some reason. its got a 1/4 in wobble that i never felt..probably caused the shot ball joints on that side . they sent the wheel out,kept it for 2 weeks and said "no go". they did try as the tire was removed in the process.

it doesnt seem possible that another shop could help, but it may be my only option..a phone call to them wouldnt hurt.

Offset vs Backspace

Here is a rim drawing showing the difference between "Offset" and "Backspace" and how they are measured. Hope it is helpful!

Dean, did you ever call Keystone? They true it as best they can manually and then do a skim cut on it with the same profile to make it perfect for rebalance. Denver is the closest to you. Honest I know thier process and pretty much anything can be fixed. If they come back that they have no code file for that particular rim, which is common, just let me know.
