Rick,
Those cars won't have a chance now that you've got new sneakers for the Manta. Is Jeff still going? I haven't seen his name on the pre-registration list.

Duane
I'd like to go, but work has been crazy and I haven't been on the site very much. I will see if I can register today.

OK, I'm registered. I'm in the HS class with Rick!! My Car # will be 72. Do we pay when we get there. Rick, What time are you planning to be there? 7:30?

Jeff,
Yes, you pay at the registration table when you get there. You will need to go through tech inspection also. Be sure there are no loose objects in the car. They will also check tires, suspension, steering, throttle linkage and safety equipment. If you don't have a helmet they have loaners available. Arriving between 7:30 and 8:00 is a good idea. Enter from the Bristol Rd side. See you there.

I have an equestrian helmet, but I guess that won't suffice:p

One final "bump"

Today is the last day for registration for Sunday's autocross in Warminster, PA. Anyone else interested in joining us ? I can't wait to get out there and embarrass myself

Hi Jeff & group:
Jeff - thanks for calling.
I am probably coming with Adam, and we'll be bringing sandwiches and drinks.
Anyone else bringing food ?
See you Sunday !

I'm chuckling at the mental image of Jeff in a black felt english riding helmet, straps under the chin, in his yellow GT on the course. Thanks for that!
I hope the weather holds out for you guys! Someone please take some pics.

Rule #1 - Have FUN!

What a Blast!!

Well, I didn't get to use my horse helmet, but the loaner helmets were spray painted bright pink. I'm OK with that:p .

First of all. I want to thank Rick for finding this event and Duane and Gary convincing me to take my "show car". Driving like a bat out of hell without the worry of the police is great. Ear to Ear grins were everywhere.

My favorite part was the U-turn at the end(power slid the whole thing:D ) and the tight serpentine. This is where the GT showed its stuff. Again, this was fun, but once a year is enough for this little engine.

Congrats go out to Duane and his little race car!! Did you fill the pint glass when you got home?

Well I came in 81st and Rick came in 82nd:D out of 104. Remember we were competing with WRX's and other professionals. I beat his best time by 1/10th of a second. We both got an "off course" His on his first run and mine on my last run when I thought I blew the engine.

On the final run I lost all power when I went up to 3rd gear. I checked my gauges and everything was OK. When I dropped it back to 2nd, the power returned but I missed a cone. Best time, but it didn't count.

Rick's son Adam took pictures. Hopefully they will post shortly.

The next time I see Adam I will "dot his eye" :p. He took 3 pix with the digital camera - a nice shot of Duane on his kart, a good shot of Evan on his kart, and a pic of the Bricklin on the course. He did get two of my runs on video, some of Duane and Evan on the course, and a bit of Jeff's first run too.

The thanks for "finding" the event have to go to Duane - I just opened my big mouth about it first !!!

Jeff, you were in serious trouble when I was on my last run; I had the little blue bomber in control and had gotten into third gear for the first time all afternoon. Unfortunately, I carried WAY too much speed into the 180 for the return trip and locked up the brakes. Fortunately, I cleared the "red mist" in time to get off the brakes and let the car snap back into line before collecting a cone. So at least I had no cones for the day :D

Adam had a great time; maybe he'll have a permit for next season. He is still grinning ear to ear from the rides that he snagged: his first was in a nicely prepped Mini Cooper S and the second in a sweet Lotus Super Seven.

The weather was unreal for November - thanks for the fun !

Rick;

Maybe you can get some pictures from the video or post the video from your digital camera.

I too was having the best run on the last run, but I ran into the ingition/carb problem.

I expect you to beat me next year after your sneakers are broken in.

Agian, we had loads of fun out there and that is what it is all about:) Having someone you know out there makes it much more fun than going it alone.

Thanks again for the fun time:D

I wanted to thank you guys for coming and adding to the fun. I'm really glad you both had a good time and hope to see you attend some more autocross events next year. It was some pretty tight competition between you two with the following results:

72/HS JEFFREY LESITSKY > 51.848 <
TIMES: 1) 69.475 2) 66.728 3) 66.916 4) 65.562 O/C

75/HS RICK GRADWELL > 51.951 <
TIMES: 1) 71.876 O/C 2) 69.985 3) 66.861 4) 67.099

You both looked great out there and the smiles as you exited the course were priceless! I did not get any photos and I'm quite disappointed that none of my in car (or Kart) video taken with my helmet camera recorded. I'm still not sure why it didn't record. I didn't fill my glass when I got home Jeff. Too busy unloading and doing some quick yard stuff before darkness set in. I hate Standard Time!

Thanks for posting the results. It was great seeing you scoot the course in your race car. Now that was driving!! You blew both of us off the track. It was great seeing you go by and then hearing the announcer state "fastest time of the day"

Bring the glass to Carlisle, and we will make sure we keep it full:p

Well, it appears it is now time to start on those winter projects. Salt season is fast approaching.

I had a chance to look at the video from the autocross on the TV screen.
Duane, I have to bring the tape up for you to get a copy. Adam got a great shot of you and the bump before the first slalom. I'm not sure who got more air - the kart from the ground, or you from your kart !!!!!

I would like a copy if possible. I will provide the tape if needed. How did our runs look? I want to show the wife what we did:)
