Hello,

I am new here but not new to performance arena. I would like to get some information about the Opel 2 Litre rods.

Is this correct:
Center to Center: 5.7010" (144.8mm)

PE Bore: .8275" (21mm)

BE Bore: 2.0476" (52mm)

BE Thks: .9380" (23.8mm)

Where can i find some high hp rods this this engine. What other car use this engine? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Which 2.0 litre are you asking about? The cam-in-head, or the overhead cam versions?

Which version have the above specs.
It must be the OHC, since the 2.0 CIH engine has 128 mm long rods, with 23 mm pin diameter, and 52 mm crankpin diameter.

Be very sure!

We must know exactly which motor you have. Is it the early 1966 to 1988 Opel Cam In Head (CIH) motor or the later 1981 to 1990 Over Head Cam (OHC) motor? Put a picture of your motor on to this thread if possible. OR tell us what model and year the motor you have comes out of ...

Japanese Rods

The reason i asked is because i am trying to use that rod in a Japanese car.....
Here I am trying to use Japanese car rods in an Opel!

Most of the Japanese motors have smaller rod bearing sizes.
Opel is 52mm but the Japanese ones are 46mm to 48mm.

Eagle Specialty Products, Inc.
8530 Aaron Lane
Southaven, MS 38671
U.S.A.

e-mail eaglerod "at" netten.net

They have a large range of Japanese car "H-beam" connecting rods.
Often advertied on E-Bay - just search with "Eagle"

Here is a copy of one of their catalogue pages.

Actually Chevy 327 Small Journal Rods have very similar specs as Opel 2.0 Liters. I would like to know what company make the 5.701" rod length for the Opel 2.0

I have seen these for sale on eBay a few times. Which engine are these for? I suspect that they are for the OHC 2.0. They look nice, but have been a bit pricey (some have sold for over $400 USD; I wonder if they fit the engine intended!). Here are the listings and photos:

This is so funny. I tried to look for them on the net and i dont see much about it too. I went to carrillo site too and i dont think they still making them. I think they are for different car not specifically for Opel. I think the specs are very similar to Opel then the seller sell it as Opel.
