I bought a 1971 opel gt for $1300. it has new tires battery and paint on it when i bought it. It has 144,000 miles on it but it still runs strong and very fast. All it needs is about $400 in work( new seals, emblems, interior).Well i was wondering if i got a deal on this great car? Should I keep the solex carb or put the webber on???? I hope you opelers can help me on the way to customizing my jewl. Thanks,Billy

lol, isnt it ironic though? muscle cars and the GT died the same year? not too many cars i consider decent were made after 73. 79 trans am is about all i can think of and even those are over popular. maybe its just me, the young kid thats anti-new cars

If you are talking about door/window seals, I'd say "ya got a good deal if everything else is in good to better shape, you know, interior, motor, etc. I think it was R.Bob that said if the solex is working good, leave it be. Just enjoy the ride!
