A coworker of mine sent me two pictures of two Opel GTs he spotted. The white one in Woodstock, GA last Saturday is most possible Lance's car (AV8R), and the yellow one came up in Florida some earlier time last week.

Dieter
The yellow car looks like the GT/J tribute that was on eBay a while back.

I just happened to pick up an old copy of a 2007 - May-June issue of Vintage Motorsport magazine. There was a article about the HSR races at Sebring. On page 101, there was a picture of Ernie's Bello's yellow 1974 Kadett, number 56, racing.
I was surprised to see this picture. Is this car still around?

I have to share this story about Ernie...I first saw Ernie at Road Atlanta decades ago. He was running among a pack of 914s. He would get swarmed by them coming down the straight beside the pits and head into the first turn and the 914s were all over him like stink on s__t, but the first car up the hill was that white and yellow Kadett....Ernie!

A coworker send these pics to me while he was traveling. I'm not even sure whether the car is still there and "For Sale" or not, it took me a little while to get to posting these here. But, if you are in the area and interested, call and check.

Address is 2747 Huntsville Highway, Fayetteville, TN

Saw a blue GT on Buhl Lane in East Northport, Long Island, NY. It was jacked up in the driveway and being worked on. Anybody know who it is?

Looks like a nice GT. I thought I knew about most of the Opels in Indiana, but I don't recognize that one.
Nice Chevy pickup too. 1947? Very cool.

Well, I found another GT....
Went to Kansas City for work yesterday and today.
Left a job site this morning and almost immediately after making a turn my attention was grabbed by something in the corner of my eye. I was certain it was GT. But, being with the boss and headed to another location I couldn't stop.

I went back later in the day and found my Opel-sense had tingled correctly. That's 'tingled', not tinkled.
Anyway, the story is that the owner had recently passed on. He has several dozen cars, not sure if it was a junkyard or a collection, or, well, you know how it is (if you don't, you're not trying...).
It will be for sale, bit not just yet. No keys, supposedly 'redone' and then it sat for 20 years or so. Engine not locked, maybe rebuilt.
Rust coming thru. Bellypan and floors look like they were decent, but are showing signs of holes. Didn't seem like the usual rotbox with massive holes, just lots of little ones, so still the same work to fix. I would approach it as a parts car that may surprise you, but probably not.
I was told there are two more on the property, but couldn't go look. One has been outside long enough for trees to grow up around it, said to be bad, but maybe a few parts.
The other is in a building. Might run, said to be 'decent'....?

I will post more when I know more. I don't want to people to start bothering the widow right now. It all seems to be a very recent passing.

Strange that it has a Honda ATV seat sitting inside.
The one with trees growing around it could still have salvageable glass. You never know what goodies you could find.
