I have a GT restoration project that´s been going on for years. I am hardly ever living at home (in New Jersey just outside of Philadelphia), so it´s slow going. Now I am looking for an Opel Specialist to help me finish. Do you know of one in my area?

I'm about 40 minutes from Philly, near Lansdale, PA

Does anyone know of any Opel shows in the PA/NJ/DE area?

not much else in the area ...

I am about an hour from Philly, in the Jersey Shore.

Lately I've started to see a trend of more north-east coast opel owners expressing their views in these forums, so may be some day we can get together somewhere in the middle?

I know Gary has already the north-north-east(MA/NY/CT) coast already covered, but to some of us, between an 1-2 hour drive is better and safer to make especially when driving our "work-in-progress" gt's! :D

Hey Folks:
I'm in Hatboro, PA (near Warminster, Philly 'burbs), and I have been slowly collecting a list of names of Opel owners who are in the area. I'm not sure if everyone that I have on my list are members here or not. I can contact them individually to see if they'd care to join this list.
I'm in !

Give yourselves a name (Tri-State Opel Owners?) and I'll set up a Forum in the "Opel Clubs" section.
Gary,

I liked that, TOO (Tri-State Opel Owners?) ...

Do we need to have an election? poll? other?

BTW, Jeff:
Did you have your GT in the Lansdale show a few weeks ago ?
A guy I work with saw two GT's but didn't get me any info about the owners.

Rick;

Yes, I was there. Mine was the yellow one. The other one belongs to a gentleman who lives in Lansdale, PA , near Main and Canon Ave. I have 123,000 miles on mine(300 miles on rebuilt engine), his has 45,000 original miles.

Rick;

Did you sell a postcard of a '73 manta rallye on e-bay? I got it from someone in hatboro.

Hi Jeff:
No, that was "probably" a lady who used to work at the Buick dealer in Hatboro (moved up to Street Road now - can't think of the dealer name right now). I bought some small part from her a year or so ago, but she told me she was down to only Opel literature remaining in her possession now.
My co-worker told me both of your GT's were nice looking.
We definitely have to get this group thing going.
Take it easy,
Rick

MOAC picnic

I would be more than willing to move the MAOC picnic location closer to you all.. very few in this area, more in DC than in Central VA.

Anyone in Baltimore or Philly area interested in hosting it for the OAA (Opels Across America). Just try to keep it within a 4 hour drive of Richmond. So I can make it a day trip :)

Am I too far north to join your Tri-State Opel Owners group?

I live in Wayne, NJ (or GSP Exit 153b for all you NJ people)

However, my son goes to West Chester University & I've been in the Philly area so many times (even Lansdale!) over the last year I think I have to pay PA state taxes!

I don't know, Marc; we'll have to put it to a vote, you know :)

The more the merrier - right ?

How do we go about actually compiling a list ?
Or do we just take advantage of this site and rely on posting to the Tri State forum ? I will try to get the word around to everyone on my informal list that has been "started" for a year now.

In any case, include me.

Thanks,
Rick

Marc,

I think anyone with a valid EXIT# in the GSP is more than welcome! :D ... I am on exit 105 ...

So, I guess someone has to really get this TOO group going ....

I make a motion to start elections for a forum/chapter coordinator ??? ....

My vote is for "opelgtguy" since he has an informal list already compiled ...
(sorry Rick :D ) ...

Anybody else????

So I guess I'm the 1st new TOO recruit! Thanks!

Even though I haven't gone through a hazing yet, I second the motion for Rick to be the TOO guy! I'm more than willing to help out if needed as well.

BTW, I remember selling a real nice 73 wheel to a guy named Rick a couple of years back... I think that you might be the same Rick.

Hopefully, this is only a good start.

So, here we have the poor guy who started this thread, but haven't really answered his question !

GW: Join the list and start firing off some questions. Maybe you can be our first "TOO Rallye" destination ?!?!?!? Imagine a squadron of Opels descending upon your driveway, socket wrenches blazing !

There is a great bunch of people on this list - more than willing to help with anything.

Good luck,
Rick
