I really hate to put this on here but, OPEL'S IN MY YARD, Is over here in Indiana, Due to things beyond my control, I will not be doing this event, I really hate to stop, But things have came up that makes it impossible to go on, Over the years I have meet some amazing Opel people and had a lot of fun, I have saw a lot of very nice cars and shared a lot of my yard, It started as a Opel get together at a local show here with about 5 or 6 cars, We came to my house about 2 blocks away from the show to eat, The next year I fixed that, We just met in my yard and did not have to go far to eat, I think I have had close to 20 here, Lot of door prizes and good food, :haha: I was holding on for as long as I could to see if things got better, But as it gets closer to June, I don't think that is going to happen, Again I am really sorry to cancel, but:::::: I do have a lot of pictures from this event, Again I am sorry for cancelling it, These pictures are from the first meet, It was not in my yard, but the next year it was

I just wanted to thank Paul and Lezlie for bringing us "Mid-westers" together every Summer
over the last 10+ years. The gatherings up in Colfax, along with the get togethers in Springfield
were always the highlight of my Opeling season. I doubt I would have met most of the local Opel owners
were it not for Paul (aka the "Mayor of Colfax" :veryhappy )
I could never replicate what he created, but I wonder if there is any interest in moving the party a little
further south, here in Zionsville IN? I live in a small town, so there is no "yard" to speak of, but we have some excellent
parks, or we could tie it into our local car show and "Fall Festival" Lots of stuff for the kids and spouses to do
while the Opel-heads hang out. Let me know what you guys think.
Cheers,
Ron in Indy

I was recently contacted by Paul to let me know of his decision. I hated to hear it but understand his reasons. Paul's event has been a great opportunity for us in the Midwest to gather in the Spring. His central IN. location was a very drivable destination from a number of surrounding States. Plenty of room to park your Opel and a heated and air-conditioned garage to have lunch in. I know Paul and his wife put a lot of effort into a great event that cost nothing more than the fuel to get there. I hope some others in the area can get with Ron to carry on the tradition. If a time and location can be arranged maybe we could do a Pot Luck. Maybe a local dining spot could be coaxed into letting us gather on their lot. A shady park next to a food source is also a thought.

Paul & Lezlie thank you for the many fine spring days spent with Opels and Opelers.

Hi Denis,
Unfortunately, it looks like I may be "Opel-less" pretty soon (take a look here)
I thought we would be around until next year, but it turns out we will be moving sooner than I anticipated.
Hopefully, someone in the area can carry on Paul's excellent tradition.
Cheers,
RR
