OK, this is what I was talking about, I got hit this morning in the parking lot where I work because the guy rounded a corner, couldn't see me and wham! Thirty one years and the car had never been hit, nine days in NJ was all it took. No tickets, hard to place blame, private property, but.... the guy was awfull sorry! :(

This is why I mounted a 4 ft white CB antenna on the back bumper of my GT. I have come out of stores and have seen people almost pull into my space. Y'all might think it's funny about the antenna (it's not connected electrically), but, it does work!!!

Damn, that's a real shame.

In public parking lots, I position my GT the same way position my motorcycle. Both vehicles are shorter than typical parking slots. I always leave room up in front and position in the vehicle towards the back of the parking slip. This allows drivers to easily see the spot is taken. If you don't, and have a minivan on one side and an SUV on the other someone might quickly pull into the spot thinking it was empty. Had a friend get his motorcycle creamed this way becasue he parked up in front of the spot. When you walk away from parking your car, if from 20 feet away it looks empty; that's what other people will think too.

Nice idea about the CB antenna. Reminds me of the fiberglass whip and orange bicycle flags that were popular years ago.

That's the general idea, I just haven't found a "flag" that will stand up to all the flapping and weather. But, the antenna has been doing it's job.

The body shop who worked on my Opel repaired my trim piece. Mine was rusted. He made up a section of new metal. It looks factory installed. He is in Skippack, PA. One man operation and he takes his time. If you don't mind being without your car for a while, I can give you his phone #. Here is a picture of his work.

Thanks, I am trying to locate another trim piece. The one that was damaged is repairable, there is a kink in it where the bumper was pushed into it but it could be hidden with a little bondo. The repair is going better than I had hoped. Soon, no one will know the dent was there! How about that number just in case. Thanks. BTW, any more people interested in those vent LED's or not? JJ"S got something that can work but it looks like they would be park and brake lights only.

Vent LEDs...

I would be very interested in two vent LEDs to use as a third brake light from the center two vents. I've already started to design something but Destec's stuff is so good, I'd be more than happy to use his product(s). :D

My gt suffered the same fate about 4 months ago. Though the damage wasnt quite as bad. Should have it fixed up within a month. I swear there is a target painted on the passeneger rear quarter on the gt's.

Okay, I know I talked about mine before, but it might make you feel a little better about the damage to your car....maybe.

I was nowhere near it. Of course, no one saw it, and no one admitted to it.

Well, I got it done in time for the O.A.A. - T.O.O. PA, NJ, DE meeting this past weekend. The paint isn't as good as I'd like it to be but it's done for now anyway. I am happy with the bodywork but matching the paint color wasn't as easy as I'd hoped. Anyway, it's a driver , not a "Trailer Queen"!
