Opel tie rod ends are listed in Main Group 3 Section 24 so there numbers start with this sequence 324 XXX

'64 - '67 Kadett use Part # 324 101

Most of the other models (including the GT) use Part # 324 108

Perhaps the part you have is not a genuine Opel part and the number you have # 497 005 is anothe rmanufacturer's identification number.
If you have the packet the part was in what is the manufacturer's name on it?

I am sure that we are talking about a "pattern" or "aftermarket" part rather than a genuine Opel Part - hence the non-Opel part number.

The only "CEW" I can find on the Web is:
CEW Import Parts Express, 4795 Commercial Plaza, Winston, Salem, NC27104

Try finding out who the supplier was as they should have a Catalogue that an be use to sort out what Part it is,

I just called over to Winston-Salem, 411, (20 miles away) and couldn't get a phone nos. Maybe one of our Club members in the Winston-Salem area (Carolina Opels), will read this thread and can hunt the nos down. I don't have a Winston-Salem phone book. Sorry, Jarrell
