The piece that goes around the ignition. Mine is metal and a b**ch to get off and on. Would rather have plastic that splits off.
Having trouble getting it off to change turnsignal ring. Can't seem to get ignition out. Any advice.

I am trying to get to a small gray wire that comes up steering column and into the ignition. This one has been taped up, cause it is fried and I thought I would change it. I think I have to take the ignition out though.

the small gray wire is for the door buzzer, just cut it off and don't worry about it for it is the negative side of the door switch, remove buzzer and tape up the two wire end connectors at buzzer so they don't short to anything and you'll have solved two problems, burnt wire and damned buzzer.
And please do go to the website

and download the wiring diagrams so you know what I am talking about.
