Firing order

Firing order is 1-3-4-2

The rotor will turn clockwise.

Pull the cap and locate the small notch on the edge of the distributor. It should be towards the bottom kinda pointed to you as you stand on the drivers side.

The notch is for #1 and where the #1 plug wire should be closely lining up. Then the rest of the plug wires should match the firing order in a clockwise direction.

Hope this helps!

Is plug #1 closer to the Front of car or towards Rear of car?

Well, the spark plug at the front of the engine is #1, and the notch on the distributor should be on the outboard side, but towards the rear of the car. Have a look at the attached photo (the .zip file is the same photo in a bit higher resolution).

1.1 firing order
is the 1-3-4-2 the same firing order for the '69 1.1L?
Yup, same firing order . . . MOST 4-cylinder engines share this firing order!
