Just to let everyone know, I bought the power window kit Wayne wrote about and decided to also get power locks and an alarm w/keyless entry. I found it all for dirt cheap, i paid about $275 shipped for all three kits and the switch kit for the windows. If anybody is interested, the website I bought all the stuff from is www.slickcar.com. They've been a great help and setup was a breeze (except breaking one pair of switches by trying to force them into the holes in the ashtray  ). Everything wires really easily (with a little creativity), and it gives you the perfect opportunity to add the relay OGTS recommends and, like in my case, convert it to pushbutton start (so stealthy, I'll be the only one who knows how to start it :D ).

I suggest:
Power Locks
Alarm/Remote Entry Option 1
Option 2
High Torque Power Windows
Lower Torque Power Windows
Switch Kits (The ones that are going into my car are here )

I don't know how much a shop would be to put it in. The diagrams that are shipped with everything are so clear that when studied with an Opel GT shop manual/wiring diagram, installing it is a snap. Finding a place to run the wires and install the box is the challenge. Becuase of this, I now have 4 relays on the driver's footwell in the engine bay and a huge mess of wires on the floor right now. The command module for the locks is glued to the fuse box and the moule for the alarm will go under my seat. Hope this helped a bit.

Steve,

Any chance we might get a few picts of your install. I am also interested in doing power windows/locks. I would like to see where and how you mounted things. I had planed on mounting my XM receiver under the driverside seat, but now maybe I will mount it near the spare tire rack if there is that much stuff.

Thanks

Steve-

How much trouble was it to route the wires from the door to the body. It seems to me that there is a great deal of distance to cover with the door wide open and I was wondering how you keep the amount of wire needed to bridge the gap from being pinched. I am currently getting ready to install power mirrors, and power windows are in the planning stages.
The power window kit shown at the listed website uses the existing window crank shaft to roll things up and down. Is there a bulky cover that goes over the shaft? Does it look good to you?
How good does the existing window tracking have to be to make the conversion? Mine is pretty sloppy on the driver's side.
Thanks'

First, routing from the door to the body was a snap. I bought a 1" hole bit and drilled into both the door and the body. Then I added wire to make it longer, and went through the gap between the body and interior. To keep them from pinching, I wrapped them in electrical tape, then cut about 8" of conduit from NAPA. Looks great, works really well. The grommets I had didn't stay in, but the conduit protects the wires.
Second, I mounted the motor inside the door as per the article in the Blitz I think it was.. .somewhere, I don't konw. Someone can point you to it. It looks great so far (I don't have the door panels on as of yet).
The only thing I regret about doing this (becuase they all work beautifully) is the mess of wires I have sitting on the floor now. Taping them down flat is going to be a challenge. Oh well.

Bumping this thread. I am thinking of doing power locks and possible power windows, since my folks bought me an alarm for my coming b-day. Does anyone have a link to a good article or pics of an install in a gt. Thanks.
