My GT has a springy U-shaped, folded sheet metal "tray" attached to the firewall behind the radio that supports it. The rear of the radio slips into this device and it supports the radio on top and bottom. I believe that this was a standard feature on GT's.I have the original AM radio from my car and I am trying to reinstall it in the dash it came out of. The edge of the dash opening has not been cut. Seemed like any easy job. But there are gaps at the end of the bezel and the control stems stick out too far. Seems like there should be a face plate, but I don't have one and I don't see any on pictures I have found. The volume control stem has adjustment as it is not secured to the radio, but the tuning stem is fastened and there is no height adjustment. Also seems like there should be some support for the back of the radio so the dash dosen't absorb al View attachment 454748
