Hi All,

I was wondering if it's a straight forward thing for a local transmission shop to take on. I've never rebuilt a transmission so I don't know what's involved. And I don't know if this transmission was available in the States. So that's why I'm concerned if a local shop can do the work and get all the parts necessary.

I think my second gear synchro is going bad because I'm clunking into second more and more frequently.

How long should a rebuild take?

While I'm at this, what's involved in switching the final drive from my 3.18 to a 3.44? Are these readily available?

isn't the getrag very similair to the BMW transmission?? same internals??

The 240 has the same internals as it's BMW counterpart, it's just the casing/bellhousing that's model specific
