My red dash light comes on when i turn the key on. I looked at the master cylinder and only find one wire connected to it. If you are looking towards the front of the car(like you were in the drivers seat), it's on the right side, is there only one wire on the master cylinder?

I pulled that wire and it didn't make the red light go out. I do think my parking brake might not be working. When i had it on a slight incline at the body shop i put it on but car still rolled a little. I just kept my foot on the brake.

Would the parking brake make the light come on and stay on? It's a 73 and the brakes feel fine to both dave and I.

so since i pulled the wire and the light stayed on i can assume it's not coming from my master cylinder?

lol! yes, i know, use that one on my teen boys all the time. but i'm still gonna do it, i promise not to name names if it goes badly.

ROFLMAO! no, i dont think it would work well in reverse. Parking brake is down, I even FIRMLY put it down and up a few times, still with the light, course like i said, i think the parking brake isn't all it used to be. Will have to find and incline and test it out again.

ah! now i am still laughing but at myself. Why would they work less well in reverse? I don't want to take another part of the car apart wahhhhh.

thanks for the info though and when i get sufficiently courageous i will check it out.
