Hello, I'm new to the forum.
I have a GT and the floor and frame rail rusted out.
I got good used panels cut out of a CA car.(Opels UNlimited)
What is the best way to get the old floor out, started drilling out spot welds. But being this is a back yard project would like to turn
the car on its side or upside down. I got a good Mig/welder.
Has anybody done this before?? Could use some advice/tips on how to make a jig/dolly with simple materials.
Any advice/tips would be great.
Mike
How do I get that floor out??

theres a thread been going for two weeks or so in all active topics from rallye bob check that out
as to the floor drill out spotwelds then dress up the edges to clean steel on both new floor and old spot weld in new part and ther weld an inch or so in different parts allowing it to cool down for a while between welds to avoid distortion of the floor
if its a large area to replace then u need to make a fram to jig the rest of the floor to keep the hole car from twisting

The whole floor has to come out with the outer frame rail too.
I'am afraid of the car twisting so maybe if I could brace/and roll car on it's side,it's strip to the bone. (lay car on thick fiberglass pad).I could get to the problem area faster. The floor on the driver side is gone.(tried to post some pics) Has anyone done this?
Mike
I'm a pretty good welder.
