First off, I am still awaiting the results from those working with the prototypes to see if any changes are needed. Also if the guage is correct. But it should be soon (K.W. and S.D. how is it going....?)

Secondly onto the much awaited the 74-75 Manta front rubber.

Unfortunately we could not also make it for the Ascona. Unless of course some well heeled Ascona owner wants to cough up $600 for the molds.

Yes that's the cost of the molds - $600, pricey but livable.

Cost per SET breaks down like this:

5 orders - $260
10 orders - $200
20 orders - $170

How many would be interested?

Also the 73-75 C-Pillar louvers

$75 a set if we have less than 10 orders
$65 a set if we get 20 orders or more

Considering the German Reproductions are going for 55 EURO (or about $90) a piece, this works out great.

SO.... how many orders do I really have now that they COULD Be available?

Uh, the dog ate my homework!
OK, I got the battery box repair kit in time to take it to Tacoma to show off. Then (the dreaded) WORK thing came up, and I was stuck on a well site for a week, and otherwise preoccupied for the rest of July. Then, I went to the cottage for the month of August. Since then, I have been busy. Not productive, just busy.

I will try to get started next week, and do up a photo essay. Sorry Charles!

Prepped

My Ascona is prepped and ready to start welding in the repair sections. As with most summers...time always seems to be a problem. I will go ahead and post 'before' pictures and try to begin the welding this weekend. Otherwise...next weekend at the latest.

Some new news.. I am going ahead with production on the boxes.

They will be 20 guage, and in paint-grip. Kieth and Scott promise updates on installations.

Other news:

The Pillar Vents for the 73-75 Mantas WILL be produced. Just sent the check.

The 75' front rubber is in danger of NOT being done. After all the work to find a place to get them made at a cost that was affordable, the lack of orders to pay for the $600 in tooling costs is making it look less and less like it will happen. I need 10 orders at $220 a set would be required to get the re-productions made.

One other note: Gil at Opel GT Source has already reproduced the shift boot for the Manta 4-speed. It is FANTASTIC ! same quality as the GT boot he has been making and at only $20 they are a steal. I HIHGLY encourage ALL Opel Manta owners with 4 speeds to call Gil and order one for thier car. IT will encourage him to reproduce more Manta parts.

I would personally love to Manta owners support Gil. Becuase if he gets the window rubbers made for the Manta we can get them a lot cheaper than I can import them for. But he won't invest in that reproduction if no Manta owners buy the things he has reproduced for us already.
